I received a call early this morning from Town Administrator Mel Kleckner, who is also a member of the Youth Awards Nominating Committee.  Mel explained that the Town was planning a Memorial and Recognitiion event for Thursday night at BHS.   I felt it was paramount to serve the best interest the community and immediately offered our Coolidge Corner time slot to the Town to provide a centralized location to host the event.  Upon hearing this, the Coolidge immediately stepped and offered to cancel their late afternoon showing so that hte Youth Awards could go on.

We are grateful to the Coolidge Corner Theatre for their consideration and honored to do our part to recognize those effected by last week’s tragedy at the Boston Marathon.

BrooklineHub.com and Advanced Digital Websites will keep our camera crews at the Coolidge and donate our video services to capture the Town’s gathering.  BATV will be providing editing services as well.

Details of the event are still being worked out.  It is believed that Brookline Police Chief O’Leary will speak and Team Brookline and the Medical Reserve Corp will be recognized.  Representatives from Temple Ohabei Shalom will also be in attendence.

Mel Kleckner commented, “The purpose of the Gathering is to acknowledge the victims and recognize the volunteers and first responders.  We sincerely hope that the Brookline Community will come out en masse to the Coolidge from 5 to 9 to attend two meaningful events, the BrooklineHub.com Youth Awards at 5pm and the Gathering at 7pm.”
