The Brookline Community Foundation (BCF) has awarded $83,000 in grants through the Brookline Youth Fund, a donor-advised fund at the Foundation. This year, BCF increased granting by 66% in an effort to strategically support and promote activities that provide equal access to opportunities for underserved Brookline youth. This year’s grantees include 11 organizations making a difference for Brookline youth and families: Brookline Arts Center; Brookline Extended Day Advisory Committee; Brookline Housing Authority;Brookline Interactive Group; Brookline Music School; Brookline Recreation Department; Brookline Teen Center; Family ACCESS; Girls’ LEAP; Steps to Success; and The City School.

“We’re pleased to award more funding for grants this year in an effort to expand out-of-school time (OST) opportunities in town, particularly for youth from low-income families and for middle school students. The Brookline Youth Fund is crucial to our work because OST is one of BCF’s strategic priorities,” said Jenny Amory, Executive Director of the Brookline Community Foundation.

The Brookline Youth Fund was established at the Brookline Community Foundation in 1999 through the generosity of The Country Club (TCC) and partnership with the Town of Brookline. Grants from the fund are made to ensure equal access to opportunities for all youth in Brookline to support and enhance the well-being of youth and their families.  The Brookline Youth Fund seeks to promote activities that are inclusive within the Brookline community, with a focus on Brookline youth from low-income families, who are underserved or considered at-risk. Since its beginning, the Brookline Youth Fund has awarded close to $700,000 in grants to youth-serving organizations.

Each year, The Country Club hosts an annual golf tournament to raise funds for the Brookline Youth Fund. This year’s 19th annual tournament will be held on July 19, 2018. Those interested in participating should contact Emily Goldman at The Country Club at 617-456-3814.
