Registration for the winter 2024 session at Brookline Adult & Community Education (BA&CE) is open. Classes begin January 16. The program will offer a wide variety of classes this winter, including woodworking, investing, tai chi, and five different languages. In addition, BA&CE will host lectures and walking tours, such as a walking tour exploring Brookline’s hidden history of slavery and freedom. A full course catalog is available online for viewing and course registration.
Classes will take place in Brookline at the following locations:
- Brookline High School
- Brookline Senior Center
- The Korean Church of Brookline
- Goddard House
- Lawrence School
- Pierce School
- Florida Ruffin Ridley School
- Brookline Booksmith
BA&CE offers online and in-person group classes for adults and children. It also offers one-on-one tutoring sessions in English as a second language, computers, foreign languages, writing, and test preparation. All BA&CE group classes have capped enrollment, and the total number of remaining seats in a class can be viewed online in the course description. Students who wish to register for a full class will be placed on a waitlist and contacted if space becomes available.
The program also offers scholarships and discounts for the following groups:
- School and Town of Brookline employees
- Disabled veterans
- People on Social Security Disability or receiving AFDC
- People over 65
- Current students who register for a class with a friend
Those eligible for a scholarship or discount should call the BA&CE office at 617-730-2700 to register instead of registering online.
BA&CE is Massachusetts’s oldest and largest non-credit public education program, with nearly 1,000 courses and over 10,000 enrollments annually.
