Caroline Cutlip is the 2016 Brookline Youth of the Year.  Upon learning that the James P Timilty Middle School in Roxbury had no library, Caroline organized a campaign to change the situation. With the help of her fellow students and her mother, Caroline collected thousands of books. The end result of Caroline’s personal initiative is now the Timothy School has a library where none existed before.

Caroline’s next initiative is to paint a mural outside the Tappan Street gym on the BHS campus to encourage Green Line MBTA riders to donate to the Brookline and Greater Boston Food Pantries. Caroline will be attending Barnard College in New York City to study urban studies and education this fall.
