There will be a viewing of the film Snowpiercer at the Coolidge Corner Theater on October 30 at 7 pm, followed by a panel discussion on class discrimination.
The panel will feature Suraj Yengde, an award-winning scholar and activist from India and the author of the bestselling Caste Matters, and visual artist Britland Tracy, whose work combines images and text to illuminate the intricacies of human connection and discord.
The discussion will be moderated by Senior Investigative Reporter for WGBH News Phillip Martin, who earlier this year published the series “Caste in America”.
Bong Joon Ho’s Snowpiercer follows humanity’s last survivors aboard a globe-spanning super train in a post-apocalyptic ice age. One man (Chris Evans) will risk everything to lead a revolt for control of the engine and the future of the world.
