Sen. Elizabeth Warren has submitted a video to be played at the Brookline Youth Awards on April 27 at the Coolidge Corner Theater. The evening focuses on the special contributions of young people, and features video interviews of Youth Award recipients and student performances. Rene Feuerman of the Brookline Food Pantry and Dana Brigham of Brookline Booksmith will also be honored and have their video interviews shown on the big screen. Ethel Weiss will be remembered at the event.
The event’s Principal Sponsors are BrooklineHub.com and the Town of Brookline. Thanks to the generosity of the Coolidge Corner Theater, admission is free. This is a community event. All are welcome.
Elizabeth Warren’s remarks about the evening, “I didn’t want to miss this opportunity to congratulate the outstanding people who are being honored. Each honoree has made a significant contribution to their community, overcoming adversity and fighting for change in their schools and in their neighborhoods”.
Warren continued, “They have made a difference in the lives of others. Their hard work makes Brookline and our commonwealth a better place. They make us all proud”.
Sen. Warren will also announce the 2016 Brookline Youth of the Year.
Catherine Marris will be the event’s keynote speaker. 2015 Brookline Youth of the Year Gavin Hui and Brookline resident Casey Hassenstein will be the evening’s emcees. The event will include performances by Elias Sink, Sofia Tong and Hannah Timmermann.
Sixty-two young people will be recognized on April 27. The evening will feature 14 video interviews and 3 performances.
