Boston for All will sponsor a fundraising 1.5-mile run/walk around Jamaica Pond on June 24. The “Run for All” event will benefit the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition (MIRA). The walk/run starts at 10 am at the Jamaica Pond Boathouse. Boston For All is a local coalition dedicated to strengthening community bonds and raising money for organizations working to preserve rights.

“Run For All is completely free and open to anyone who wants to join, including kids,” said event organizer Jeremy Fischer. “We don’t ask our participants to do anything but come, be a part of the community and give whatever they’d like.”

Fischer continued, “All contributions to the fundraising run go directly to Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Coalition, which is providing vital services to immigrants and refugees in our community.

Boston for All was founded in 2016 by Jamaica Plain neighbors determined to raise money for civil liberties organizations in the wake of the presidential election. Since then, the group has hosted the first Run for All, two sold-out ‘Rock For All’ community concerts and a Dining for a Difference restaurant week. The group raised more than  $14,000 for the ACLU in 2017 and more than $6,000 for the MIRA thus far in 2018.

Sponsors for the Run for All include Rifrullo Café, City Feed, and Red Sun Press.

Run for All will feature free refreshments and addresses by City Councilor Matt O’Malley and a representative from MIRA before the crowd runs or strolls around the pond.

“The whole idea of this event is that we can all come together for something fun and meaningful,” Fischer said.
