With demand rising to levels that far exceed previous years, the Brookline Food Pantry greatly needs support to feed local families. This holiday season, the community is going above and beyond to help out. A prime example is Eureka!, member of the Coolidge Corner Merchants’ Association and business participating in the Feed Brookline Drive.
In addition to hosting a collection container for the Feed Brookline Drive, owner David Leschinsky organized a raffle to raise additional funds. With each raffle ticket purchased, customers have a chance to win a box filled with puzzles, games and other items from from the store valued at $300. Eureka’s customers have responded enthusiastically.
As of this morning, the raffle had garnered $913. Upon hearing the total, a customer in the store, pictured here with Leschinsky, purchased $87 worth of raffle tickets to raise the amount raised at Eureka! for the Feed Brookline Drive to an even $1,000.
The Feed Brookline Drive is a collaborative effort between the Coolidge Corner Hub and the Coolidge Corner Merchants’ Association. All proceeds from the Drive go directly to the Brookline Food Pantry. Participating merchants throughout the area are collecting food items and money until December 30. In addition, the Drive recenly launched two online auctions featuring one month’s parking at the Brookline Courtyard Marriot and an overnight stay at the hotel, the proceeds from which also go exclusively to the Food Pantry.
