In November 2020, Town Meeting voted for the Town of Brookline to prepare a Report on the Disparities within the Brookline community. A working group of the Office of Diversity, Inclusion, and Community Relations, the Commission of DICR, Brookline Housing Authority, Mutual Aid Brookline, the Senior Center, and community members have been tasked with collaborating with other Town Departments and community organizations to prepare a Report on ways to repair the Disparities in Brookline.

This Disparity Report will reflect qualitative and quantitative data available within the municipality and community organizations within Brookline. This report intends to identify disparities in Brookline’s programming, resources, and services among traditionally underrepresented groups. It will ultimately include recommendations on fiscal allocations to the Town Budget, as well as concrete actions that can be taken by the Town to address and remedy those Disparities.

We are now looking for input from the community at large! Please consider completing a survey to ensure that our Working Group has aligned and captured the needs and perceptions of the community in our Report and Recommendations. The survey is currently available in English, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and responses are anonymous.

You can access the survey at: https://www.brooklinema.gov/1898/Disparity-Report

In the coming weeks, we will be announcing several opportunities, both in-person and remotely, to participate in community forums and provide feedback on the current drafted report and recommendations that you would like to see included.
