Beginning Monday, January 7, 2013, the Brookline Winter Farmer’s Market (BWFM) will be open every Monday at the Arcade building in Coolidge Corner from 11:30 am to 6:30 pm.
With the addition of the Monday market, the Brookline Winter Farmer’s Market now offers Brookline residents two full days of access to fresh, local, and seasonal products from a wide variety of vendors and farmers.
The convenience of hosting a local farmer’s market on Sundays and Mondays is unique to Brookline and offers residents and visitors alike ample opportunity to eat fresh and eat local.
The Brookline Winter Farmer’s Market is held at the historic Arcade Building on Harvard Avenue in the heart of Coolidge Corner, one of Brookline’s thriving neighborhood retail hot spots. Said Howard Leeder, longtime owner of the Arcade, “The Winter Market is the perfect opportunity for the Leeder family to continue our long support of the Brookline community, and the Arcade is the just the right place to host a community market. It’s in our bones. We’re very happy to be a part of it. ”
The BWFM was designed to be a one-stop shopping experience for individuals and families who choose to shop and eat local for all their needs. Meat, fish, poultry, eggs, produce, nuts, bread and baked goods, pasta, and other products sold will enable market consumers a full and varied diet of fresh, local, and healthful ingredients.
Said Market manager Linda Plazonja, “Support for a Winter Market in Brookline has been incredible. From the Town to the Farmers and customers, everyone recognizes the many benefits of buying and eating local and fresh, 52 weeks a year.”
