Yonah Borns-Weil of Brookline is one of eleven seniors at Commonwealth School in Boston, nearly 30% of the class, who have been named as semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship program.
National Merit Semifinalists are chosen based on their performance in the PSAT; finalists will be announced in the spring. Over the last five years, 25% of Commonwealth seniors have been chosen as National Merit Semifinalists.
Commonwealth School is a co-ed independent day school located near Copley Square in Boston’s Back Bay. Acclaimed as one of the nation’s top independent schools, Commonwealth was also named the area’s best private school in the most recent Boston Magazine rankings. The school has scheduled admissions open houses for Sunday, Oct. 20 and Tuesday, Dec. 10.
