Unarmed robbery attempt, traffic violations and malicious damage to Brookline business recorded in the Brookline Police log.

January 1: A local business in Coolidge Corner reported malicious damage to its rear door. Unknown if this was an attempt to gain entry.

January 2: An officer was monitoring traffic on Boylston Street and observed a defective headlight on a vehicle. The vehicle was pulled over and the officer asked for the driver’s license and registration. The person who was operating the vehicle had a suspended license and was placed under arrest for operating after a suspension.

Police responded to an unarmed robbery to a local business on Beacon Street. The suspect threatened the store clerk, stole some items and ran off. Police found the suspect who matched the description. An arrest was made. This matter is still under investigation.

Two police officers attempted to pull over a vehicle which failed to stop for a red light on Commonwealth Avenue. The driver stopped the vehicle on Amory Street, as the officers exited their vehicle, the driver drove away at an accelerating speed. The police officers then pulled over and approached the vehicle a second time and found that the driver had possession of drugs in the vehicle. The driver was also operating a vehicle with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.

January 5: An officer was conducting a random query on a passing vehicle along Harvard Street. The driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and a revoked registration and was placed under arrest.

January 6: An officer was conducting a random query on a passing vehicle on Commonwealth Avenue. The driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.

January 7: Two officers were monitoring traffic on Harvard Street and noticed a vehicle with an invalid inspection sticker. The officer requested to see a driver’s license and registration. The driver was operating the vehicle with a permit and not a duly licensed passenger and was placed under arrest.

An officer was observing a vehicle that made an illegal U-turn. The officer requested to see a driver’s license and registration. The driver was operating the vehicle with an expired license and was placed under arrest.

January 8: Two officers were monitoring traffic on Cypress Street and noticed a vehicle turning without stopping. The driver was asked for their license and registration. The driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.

An officer was monitoring traffic on Washington Street and noticed a vehicle turning at an intersection that has a sign posted “No Turn on Red”. The officer requested to see a driver’s license and registration. The driver was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and was placed under arrest.
