The BNA’s annual meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 10th, 2013, 7:00 PM in the Selectmen’s Hearing Room, 6th fl., BrooklineTown Hall, 333 Washington St.

The evening’s agenda includes presentation of neighborhood leadership awards to

  • Kara Brewton, Brookline Department Of Planning And Community Development
  • The Lawrence Local Historic District
  • Ethel Weiss, Irving’s Toy And Card Shop

as well as a talk by James O’Connell entitled “Brookline and the Development of Metropolitan Boston”.  James O’Connell is the author of The Hub’s Metropolis: Greater Boston’s Development from Railroad Suburbs to Smart Growth. He is a community planner at the Boston office of the Northeast Region of the National Parks Service, where he specializes in planning for historic sites and heritage areas.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available at 6:30 PM.
