In June, $48,900 in scholarships from the Brookline Community Foundation were awarded to 34 Brookline High School graduates.  Each year, scholarships are awarded to BHS students with financial needs, helping close the gap between the cost of attending college and what their families can afford. As BHS students look towards the fall, the future remains uncertain due to the continuing pandemic. BCF is committed to providing financial assistance, which is needed now more than ever.
The Foundation, in partnership with the Town of Brookline and BHS, manages the endowed BCF Scholarship Fund for BHS with the goal of raising $3.7 million by 2024. This will double the number of scholarship awards with the town each year, totaling $300,000. Special recognition goes to Brookline Bank, The Country Club, and Bo Winiker and the Rotary Club of Brookline, who have all raised or pledged $100,000 or more since the fund was established.

“BCF is working with a broad set of community partners to ensure that all Brookline High students have the resources needed for post-secondary school education – and scholarships are essential to make college a reality for many,” said BCF Interim Chief Executive Officer Frank Steinfield.
