The Brookline Arts Center (BAC) announces its fall schedule with a full season of classes, workshops, gallery exhibitions, and events.

Fall art classes for toddlers, children, teens, and adults begin the week of September 23, and offerings include classes in painting, pottery, drawing, cartooning, batik, jewelry making and more. Some class highlights this fall include Adventures in Clay, Draw Like a Pro and Painting Styles and Techniques for children and teens, and Methods in Painting, Pottery & Wheelthrowing and Encaustic Art for adults.

Community members can learn more about classes and workshops on Saturday, September 8 from 1:00-3:00 pm at the BAC’s Fall Open House. The open house is free and open to the public and includes art activities for all ages.

In the gallery, the BAC opens the fall season with its annual Echo Trobridge Artist Residency, featuring the work of Erik Grau and Crislin Waldman. Their installation has transformed the BAC gallery and staircase into a giant cave structure filled with crystals, moths, and vegetation. The exhibition will be on view through September 20, with a reception on September 19 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Erik and Crislin will lead a special presentation during the open house on September 8.

In late September, the gallery welcomes Martin R. Anderson’s Redemptions and Liliana Marquez’s REPOP, two exhibitions featuring work constructed from reclaimed materials. Both exhibitions will be on view September 27-November 1, with a public reception on Thursday, October 3 from 6:00-8:00 pm.

The fall season also includes several exciting BAC events. First, on Saturday, September 14, the BAC hosts Hops & Crafts, where attendees can enjoy local craft brews and bites while creating something unique to take home from each of our studios. On October 19, the BAC will host its third annual Halloween Dance pARTy featuring unique art, libations, a candy bar, costume contest, pumpkin painting, games, music and more. Both of these events are for ages 21+ and tickets can be purchased on our website. A few weeks later, the BAC’s annual Artist Marketplace takes place November 23-24, presenting the community with an opportunity to buy handmade and shop local.
