Members of the Brookline Chamber of Commerce and the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce took part in a networking breakfast at Fenway Park recently. Over 150 members of both Chambers attended the event which included a talk by Sam Kennedy, the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Red Sox and the President of Fenway Sports Management.

Chamber members were treated to a breakfast buffet and a talk from Mr. Kennedy titled “The Business of Baseball: An Inside Look at Running the Red Sox.” Mr. Kennedy spoke about the business philosophy behind the Fenway Sports Group, the ownership group of the Red Sox, and how they transformed the Red Sox into one of the most successful franchises in the country.

Attendees had a chance to ask Mr. Kennedy questions about the Red Sox, Fenway Sports Group, and the organization’s plans for the future. “It was a great event. There is no better place to be on a Friday morning in July than at Fenway Park,” said George Drugas of Brookline Bank. There was also an opportunity to take pictures with the two Red Sox World Series trophies and take a tour of the stadium afterwards. “We were thrilled to work with the Red Sox and Mr. Kennedy to hold this event at beautiful Fenway Park”, said Harry Robinson, Executive Director of the Brookline Chamber of Commerce. “Attendees from both Chambers were able to network before and after Mr. Kennedy’s talk in the beautiful and spacious EMC Club and culminated the morning with a wonderful tour of Fenway.”
