On Tuesday, August 7, the Town’s contractor, MDR Construction, will mobilize on Babcock Street to begin roadway and sidewalk construction.
Project Details

  • Improve deteriorating roadway and sidewalks infrastructure
  • Provide improved facilities for cyclists and pedestrians
  • Construct curb extensions at John Street, Dwight Street, and Freeman Street to enhance
    pedestrian safety
  • Upgrade street lighting infrastructure

Project Schedule

  • The project will take approximately 10 months to complete
  • During the week of August 6th, crews will mobilize to the site and install signage
  • Crews will begin removing the roadway between Devotion Street and Freeman Street this
    month

What to expect during construction

  • General work hours will be 7 AM to 4 PM, Monday – Friday.
  • “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 24 hours in advance of construction; please be sure to check posted signs for exact dates and times.
  • Section of the road will be temporarily closed.
  • When work occurs directly in front of driveways or entryways, the contractor and police details will coordinate access directly with residents and businesses.
  • Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
