Annual Public Health Policy Forum on Health Care Cost Control Announced


On Wednesday evening, June 20, 2018, the 22^nd Annual Public Health Policy Forum will host a conversation on ways to control the rising costs of U.S. health care. Former Governor Michael Dukakis will moderate the panel. Among confirmed panelists are: David Rosenbloom, PhD, Professor of Public Health at the Boston University School of Public Health and former Boston Commissioner of Health and Hospitals; State Rep. Jeffrey Sánchez, Massachusetts State House Representative for the 15th District of Suffolk County and Chair of the Massachusetts House Committee on Ways and Means; and David Seltz, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Health Policy Commission. “This will be a vibrant discussion on the ever-changing landscape of health care.” “It’s a perfect opportunity to learn how current policies will impact us”, said Dr. Swannie Jett, Health Commissioner.

The forum, Health Care Reform: Putting the Brakes on Rising Health Care Costs will be held at the Brookline Senior Center, 93 Winchester Street, Brookline, MA.  Following a reception from 6:30-7 PM, the forum, which is free and open to the public, will take place from 7-9 PM. No registration is required.

Sponsored by the Friends of Brookline Public Health and the Brookline Adult and Community Education Program, the forum offers Brookline residents an opportunity to hear experts discuss lessons from past state and federal efforts, evidence-based reform strategies, and implications for public health equity.
