Looking for a fun way to unwind this weekend and also do some good in the community? Saturday, June 4, the Vine Ripe Grill at the Robert T Lynch Municipal Golf Course (1281 W. Roxbury Parkway) hosts a benefit for the Brookline Teen Center.   The evening is open to the public with a full roster of music, great food, a raffle and a chance to meet BHS social workers Paul Epstein and Ayanna Kilpatrick and learn more about the Teen Center.

The fundraiser kicks off at 7:00 and runs until 11:00 pm. A tax-deductible donation of $75 per couple will be collected at the door, but organizer Lisa Richards notes anyone interested in attending should RSVP to her atlisa.richards3@comcast.net.

The evening will feature casual fare served in three food stations. A selection of sliders and fries, pulled pork sandwiches with cole slaw and veggie and meat rollups will be available.

‘Featuring 7 at Dannys’ , a fun, bluesy rock band and the 2010 Berkeley College of Music Battle of the Bands winner will play. Making up the band is Paul Richards (Lisa’s husband), Danny Genis, Tim Townsend and Javier Marin. Interestingly, both Dan and Tim are Jet Blue pilots as well as musicians.

In between sets, dance music will play and ample space for dancing is available.

Three items will be raffled off during the evening. Ticket holders could win an Ipod, three Red Sox tickets or a round of golf with golf cart.

Taking the lead in organizing the fundraiser, Lisa Richards noted that the positive impact Paul Epstein, president of the Brookline Teen Center and BHS social worker, had on family member, as well as teens throughout Brookline, inspired her to get involved. It’s her hope that many more events to support the Teen Center will follow.

A non-profit funded by donations and grants, the BTC offers a community-driven solution for kids in grades 7 through 12 who live or attend school in Brookline.  The center will provide academic, physical and social activities as well as service opportunities in the community.  Its mission is to foster a positive youth culture with particular emphasis on community service and respect
