At 7pm on Sunday, September 29th, the wonderful woman of the Studio will host ‘Kids Strong’, unveiling their Fall/Winter Collection at the newly launched and way cool Brookline Teen Center, in what will surely be a fantastic evening.

As anyone who has seen me knows, I am fashioned-challenged, but I do know something about Room to Grow and the Brookline Teen Center. Room to Grow, led by CEO Saskia Epstein, has been a source of hope and support for hundreds of impoverished parents. The Brookline Teen Center opened last Sunday after an epic eight-year effort by Paul Epstein, many volunteers, contributors and a few angel-like mega donations.

The $75 admission for Sunday’s event benefits both Room to Grow and the Teen Center. So whether you are a “Project Runway” or “Fashion Police” zealot or fashion failure like me, you have reason to attend and have a great night for a great cause. Hey, when was the last time you saw models walk down an actual runway!

If that doesn’t grab you, ‘Kids Strong’ will also feature the world’s great equalizer, food! Your ticket entitles you to a Taste of Brookline from Rami’s, Zaftigs, Pomodoro, Lineage, Pho Lemon Grass, Khoa Sam, Bruegger’s, Coolidge Corner Clubhouse, and Fugakyu. Man, I could see dishes from those places walked down the runway all night long!

There is another reason to join the fun on Sunday night. Sandy, Marcie, and Ilene have operated The Studio for almost 35 years. If you’ve ever owned your own business or ever been close to someone who has, you know that is one incredible achievement. These three wonderful ladies have earned the respect and admiration of countless area women and men alike.

Tickets for ‘Kids Strong’ can be purchased at the Studio,  online and at and

If you get a chance, go up to Paul’s mom and Saskia’s mother-in-law, Ilene, and let her know her kids done good. There is a 50/50 chance you’ll be talking to Ilene’s twin sister, and Paul’s aunt, Sandy but that’s ok, she’ll pass on the message.
