BROOKLINE, MA - Brookline Access Television will be hosting an opening reception for the artists at a local photography class on the top floor of the Unified Arts Building at 46 Tappan St, Brookline, MA on January 19, 2012 from 6pm to 8pm.
The BATV Gallery is featuring a guest exhibition. Five photographers, Scott Buchanan, Natalie Mathias, Sacha Nalepa, Sean O'Bryan and Elmer Sprague are students from the Brookline Adult and Community Education's Creative Darkroom class. Their instructor, Jo Shields is keeping the fine art of black and white printing alive and flourishing in this class. The students have learned what makes a perfect black and white print, but have also pushed artistic and technical boundaries with experimental processes. In this digital age of instant images these five talented photographers take their art seriously and craft fresh, exciting images that express the beauty and magic of the medium.
BATV supports our local artists by promoting their artwork in house at our facility in Brookline. We work closely with Brookline Art Makers (BAM) to display different artists each month.
