Moving Stories, Inspiring Speakers And A Community Honoring Its Teens

On Thursday, May 3rd, in the the Coolidge Corner Theatre’s grand, art-deco main theatre, BrooklineHub.com held its second annual Youth Awards celebrating the impact of local teens.

 

Catherine Marris Named 2012 BrooklineHub.com Youth of the Year

The 2nd Annual BrooklineHub.com Youth Awards was a night with many highlights including a performance by flamenco guitarist, Juanito Pascual, an inspiring speech by Joe Kennedy III and a surprise video appearance by Theo Epstein with a message of support for his brother Paul and the Brookline Teen Center.   Most memorable were the stories of Brookline teens making an impact on the world around them.  From the sixteen Youth Award and twenty Recognition Award winners, BHS student, Catherine Marris, was named as 2012 Youth of the Year.

Come see the stories of these amazing teens at the Coolidge Corner Theatre, Thursday, May 3rd at 7pm.  The BrooklineHub.com Youth Awards are open to the public, and admission is free.

The program for the 2nd Annual BrooklineHub.com Youth Awards is quickly coming together with many exciting developments. It has been confirmed that  Joe Kennedy III will join the event as a guest speaker.

As a society we often dismiss teens as moody, hormonal and thousand other stereotypes. What the Nomination Committe and I personally have learned, however, is that these young adults are a very loud reminder of what could be.
