On January 30th, you could personally be responsible for feeding your neighbor. By attending the Feed Brookline Benefit Dinner, you will ensure local families, senior citizens, working couples or individuals struggling to make ends meet have food. That's a powerful thing.
Why should you attend ?
- Chef Jim Solomon of The Fireplace personally created the menu. 'Nuff said
- All profits from the dinner go directly to the Brookline Emergency Food Pantry.
- In 2010, 13% of Brookline residents lived at or below the poverty level. The lack of significant improvement in the economy has not helped this figure.
- More Brookline residents than ever RELY upon the Food Pantry to feed themselves and their family. Bottom line for these families : No Pantry. No Food.
- This year alone, the Pantry will need an estimated $95,000 to cover the difference between the cost to buy food and the donations they receive.
- Food is not a luxury. Even when the economy is this tight. No one should ever go hungry. No one. Ever.
The details
The Fireplace will open its doors at 6pm on Monday, January 30th. Dinner will be served at 7pm.
Space is limited, so advance reservatiions are required. The cost is $125 per person. If you are unable to attend, a donation of $125 will sponsor a seat at the the dinner for a Feed Brookline Drive teen volunteer from the Brookline Literacy Partnership.
