On Tuesday, September 13th, Massachusetts State Representative, Ed Coppinger, paid his first visit to Goddard House Assisted Living in Brookline to meet his constituents there. On November 2, 2010, Coppinger was elected as State Representative for the 10th Suffolk District, which includes West Roxbury, three precincts of Brookline, and a small bit of Roslindale.

Coppinger informed the audience that his longstanding concerns for older adult and disabled citizens will play an active part in his service on the Joint Commission of Elder Affairs. The committee is tasked with considering all matters concerning the elderly, such as issues effecting handicapped elders, nursing facilities, prescription drugs and reverse mortgages.

Coppinger also serves as a member of the Joint Committee on Housing and the Joint Committee on State Administration and Regulatory Oversight.
